Back again!

Sorry, school has been absolutely overwhelming. With a Baroque art history test on Tuesday that I'm dreading, and two papers due the same day my anxiety level is through the roof. Wanted to leave you guys with at least one progress picture. So, here it its!
It's a ceramic crown. It's made by brushing slip on to a burger king crown. Hopefully it survives the bisque process!

Research and Assemblage

I have to start reading for a research paper due on Thursday. Ugh... procrastination, the college student's worst enemy. Thankfully it is on an artist I truly admire, Louise Bourgeois. So now I have to read through some books I got from the library and work all of Sunday. Also, I finished one of my assemblage tins for my class. Now I need 7 more to go, by the end of September!
I hope you like it! See you next week!

A Toy Story

I think I'm just going to post on Saturdays, since I keep posting on Saturdays. School is a bit hectic, especially since our thesis paper is more about just research than anything else this semester. Also, I still haven't gotten my Baroque Art History book, thanks to Amazon. At least my artwork is still moving forward. I'm making lots and lots of toys, mainly in ceramics and paper. Well here is the preview of the tins the paper dolls are in.
Yeah some are pretty big, but that's depending on the story I want to tell within each piece.
This is the interior of one of the more finished tins. Well, Thanks for visiting! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! P.S.- If you're in Miami I suggest you go see the Severus Show in the Amat Art Gallery, and if you go to Wynwood definitely hit Peggy Nolan's show in the Dina Mitrani Gallery. Have fun!

Week Two

Hello again! School has been going great. The one class I thought I would have a problem in was Baroque (Art History), but thankfully the professor seems to be getting her act together. Thesis 1 is all about research, and all my other studio classes are so much fun! Well here is some progress work from Assemblage/Collage.
It's going to be a dollhouse for some paper dolls. It's also one of three. So, hopefully I finish them for next week!

A New Day

Yay! School starts today! SO totally not nervous! OK, I am. That's just because this semester I have Thesis 1 (yes, in our school art students have to write a thesis... and I'm not in grad school yet). At least I have an idea what my first piece is going to be. It's definitely not related to school, but to another show I'm hoping to get into at the Bear and Bird in Tate's Comics! This upcoming picture illustrates the general idea for the piece.
P.S.- The show deals with the supernatural.

Life Now

Hello everyone! This is just a quick overview of my life so far. I'm still in college (classes start next week), I've been in three art shows (in actual galleries), and I'm co-founding an Art Honor Society in my college( still debating if it's going to be an honor society or not). Life is going pretty well now. If only I could find a job that would hire me.... sniff... sniff... then life would be absolutely perfect. Well, here are the pictures from both gallery shows. Hope you guys like them! The artwork is pretty much the same, lols (with minor differences). The first show was in the Little River Yacht Club, and the images are just the evidence of my performance piece.
The second show was in the Pyramid Gallery, and you see a wall scroll and some prints.
The third show was in MBUS, and it also had a wall scroll and prints. They're slightly different though.
Finally, here is a close up of the most detailed print.
Well this is my update for now, and thank you for visiting! (Sorry the post was a little late in the day, but it's still Friday!)
